THE BANDS BIOGRAPHY
It started out with Billie he was born on Febuary 17th 1972 the youngest of 6 children he lived in a sucky town called rodeo. He was middle class.His mom was a waitress and his dad drove a truck. Billie started playing guitar when he was 8 he tried copying the cords of the hard rock music he heard.
His dad got cancer and he died. When he was in fifth grade he meet mike. Mike was born on may 4th 1972 to a herion addict. And he had 75 detentions which was the most in his school. They both where in punk rock music. Billie hated school he felt it was holding him back from playing music. So they formed Sweet Children. There friends told them about a place called Gilman Street where punk rock bands
can play. So they went there and the people thought they weren't punk enough. So
one day when Billie was high he wrote how about how he felt and called it green day.
People liked that name so they stuck with it. They started becoming more punk and
the made there first album 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours with lookout. Then
there drummer left for collage so they needed a new one. They got Tre who was born on December 9th 1972 and said how Tre insulted everyone and he did all these drugs and Billie liked him so they let him play the drums. Later they went out on there first us tour. When they where in Minnesota Billie saw a
girl (adrienne) with long black dreadlocks. They started talking adrienne wanted to
now where she could get a 7 in so she gave his number to Billie. And Billie called here
and there conversations started getting longer. Adrienne was taking a human sexuality
class at that time so they talked a lot about that, Billie though it was cool talking to a
21 year old about that (he was 18 at that time). So they started going back to
Minnesota a lot to play. Billie and Adrienne kissed and that's when Billie wrote the
song 2,000 light years away. Then they made there second cd kerplunk. Soon Billie
asked adrienne to come move out to california with him and a month later they got
married in Billie Joe's back yard. The next day adrienne took a pregnancy test and
found out she was pregnant. They were both very excited. Soon record companies
started asking green day to sign with them and green day didn't now what to do, cuz if
you were a true punk band u would never sign a major record contract or u would be
considered "sold out." But they didn't give a fuck what anyone thought so the signed to
reprise. And they really liked rob they had a lot in common about music. So that's
when they made there 3rd cd Dookie. They went out on a huge us tour in there book
mobile and everyone loved them and the fans started getting younger and younger. But
the fans back home at gilman street hated green day cuz there were considered "sold
out". One night Billie snuck in to gilman street with his friend who had a key and drank
and they went into the girls bathroom and saw that someone wrote on the wall "Billie
most die." Billie didn't now what to think of that. That's when they went to play at
wood stock. Billie was talking about how people started throwing mud at them so
they said fuck this and they started throwing it back. And they where throwing it,
eating it and diving in it. Soon people started going up on stage and a security guy
thought mike was a fan and so he pushed mike to the ground and mike hit his jaw on
the security guys shoulder and knocked out 2 of his teeth. Mike said "dude im in the
band" the security guys was just like oh yeah whoa u guys rock. After that
concert everyone went out and bought the dookie cd and they ended up selling 10
million copies. The media started saying how green day sold themselves out. And
green day started getting really pissed so that's when they made there 4th cd
Insomniac. It was a lot harder punk then they have done. They went out on tour after
that cd came out. And they didn't feel like playing anymore they thought "what's the
point" So they cut that tour short. That's when they made there 5th cd Nimrod. And
made the song "time of your life" and Billie joe said about the song time of your life
"this is going to really bizarre but huge" And they went on tour for that cd and
everyone loved it. But green day was starting to miss there families. So after that tour
they decided to take a break or split up and not talk to each other for awhile. Billie
Joe started to feel useless out at home cuz he has 2 kids now and was on tour during
both pregnacys. And his dad died when he was 10 so he didn't want his kids growing
up with him always gone. Everyone thought that green day had split up but 3
years later the made there 6th cd Warning. It was a lot more "grown up" then there
other cds but Billie joe said "I don't wanna be some 40 year old guy trying to act like a
kid and my wife doesn't want me to be like that or do my kids" Mike and Tre were
saying that they don't care what anyone thinks cuz they made 6 good cds that they
made and recorded and they kicked ass. Even though there growing up they are not
taking it slow. Billie was saying now when we go on tour are families are coming with
us. Mike was married but he is now divorced and has a girl name Estlle and he is now engaged. Tre was also married has 2 girls ones name is Ramona and Tre just got married in august 2000. Green Day has made around 40 singles and have appeard around 8 soundtracks.

In 1998 Billie Joe and his friends started a record company called Adeline Records.He is now the co-owner of it.
